About

Background

As a designer, I’ve always been energized by creating. As a people person, I have a natural ability to empathize and a desire serve others.  The result is a passion for creative problem solving, and an excellence in crafting solutions that balance functionality and aesthetics.

My multidisciplinary background merges design and technology, providing me with a unique perspective and a versatile skill set. With over 8 years of industry experience in product development, I’ve had roles in every aspect of the design process and experience collaborating cross-functionally to bring ideas to life.

In every project, my goal is simple: to create experiences that inspire, delight, and add lasting value. From identifying needs, to hand sketching concepts, to wireframing and prototyping, I approach each project with enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Path to UX Design

Early on in my education, I sought to merge my instincts for analytical thinking and logical problem solving with my creativity and imagination. I received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and a bachelor of arts in industrial design.

As an automotive designer, I specialized in designing a wholistic experience. Every design feature had to work as part of a whole to deliver a desired experience for a user. At the center of every vehicle concept, content, and interior technology feature was a human being and their needs. I developed an expertise for identifying user needs from design research and translating them into new design ideas.

I found that many of the skills I practiced as an industrial designer translated directly into the role of a UX/UI designer. In my career in UX design, I am able to thrive as a designer in the aspects of the design process that I most enjoy: understanding user mental models and behaviors, rapid prototyping of creative solutions, and delivering delightful experiences.
